I decided to read this during the holiday season, and I finished it on Christmas Eve. Although Dickens has become largely unpopular among American readers due to frequent assignments in school, he has remained one of my favorite authors. I have seen several movie versions of this book, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that most of the movie dialog had been lifted almost verbatim from the text of the novel. It's a quick read, and I suggest it any time of the year.
