The Screwtape Letters
by C.S. Lewis

This series of fictional correspondence is one of Lewis' most famous works. It is a splendid study on human nature and offers both insight and humor to all, regardless of their faith. My favorite line comes from Screwtape, when he counsels his tempter nephew about how to deal with his subject's humility: "Have you drawn his attention to the fact?"
