Angels and Demons
by Dan Brown
A moderately entertaining thriller about an ancient secret society threatening to blow up the Vatican during a papal enclave. The book has lost some of its potency after the election of Pope Benedict XVI because the media was permitted to see more of the process than ever before, but it is still full of entertaining conjectures. Dan Brown does what he does best, which is take many obscure facts and spin an somewhat believable yarn. My previous experience with reading Dan Brown (Digital Fortress) was less-than stellar, so I thought this book was pretty decent, even though the ending was a little weak.
